Walk for Hope

The Walk for Hope is a family-friendly community event hosted by the Pregnancy Care Centre to celebrate and increase the impact we have on our community. This annual event strives to raise funds, create awareness, and share the excitement about the important work that PCC does to support women facing unexpected pregnancy.

This year’s Walk for Hope is on Saturday, June 3rd

In-person events will be held in two locations, Edmonton and Barrhead. A $25 minimum donation is required for in-person participation. Virtual participation can be specified during online registration and continues until the end of June.

Edmonton participants will be meeting at Rundle Park’s ACT Centre, where 2.5km and 5km walking distances will be available.

Barrhead participants will meet at the Emmanuel Church Parking Lot, where 1 km and 5km walking distances will be available.

FAQs

I’m participating virtually. What if I want to walk over several days?

Virtual participants can walk, run, or ride for hope at any time before the donation campaign website closes at the end of June.

Will PCC be gifting t-shirts again this year?

Registrants who raise $200 or more will receive a Walk for Hope t-shirt! T-shirts are distributed by amount raised per person. For example, if a team of five people raises $1,000, that team will get one t-shirt per member. T-shirts are available in limited quantities and sizes, and are given out on a first come, first served basis. Please come by the PCC booth on event day to receive your t-shirt! If you are participating virtually, reach out to us after June 4th to check t-shirt availability and arrange pickup.

Can my child participate without me?

All kids age 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is walking with them and stays with them at all times (including helping them register/hand in their waiver form). The routes are family-friendly, but not intended for children walking alone.

All youth under 18 must have a waiver signed by their legal guardian.

How do I register online for children or someone without an email address?

Simply include the total number of participants included in your registration in brackets next to the name of someone with an email address. For example, if Jane Smith is walking with her two children, she would register as Jane Smith (3). Then, on registration day, please come to the PCC booth to fill out paper forms for those included in your registration.

What if I prefer to have a paper pledge form?

Please contact your church liaison or our event coordinator at events@pregnancycarecentre.ca to have a paper pledge form sent to you.

Is there a registration fee?

A $25 minimum donation is required for in-person participation. Virtual participation is free!

Will donors get a tax receipt?

Donations greater than $20 are eligible for a tax receipt. Please be sure to provide your contact information!
